Alexandros Merkouris is a filmmaker based in Athens. With a background in architecture, his work blends strong visual storytelling with themes of culture, environment, and memory.

His film The Perfect Meal (ARTE, 2023, official selection at CPH:DOX) traces the roots of the Mediterranean diet across eight countries, blending storytelling, science, and gastronomy. Other recent works include environmental and cultural documentaries for BBC StoryWorks and Monocle, and contributions to institutions such as WWF Greece, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. He also co-directed Disasters & Triumphs, a documentary series on modern Greek history.

He has directed commercials for companies like LIDL, ALFA Beer, AB, SANI, and others. His branded documentary series Bar Attitude by Three Cents was awarded a Gold Ermis for Best Digital Content.
