Alexandros Merkouris is a filmmaker working between Greece and Spain. Trained in architecture, he explores culture, environment, and memory through visual storytelling.

His documentary The Perfect Meal (ARTE, 2023, official selection at CPH:DOX) traces the roots of the Mediterranean diet across eight countries, blending storytelling, science, and gastronomy. Other recent works include environmental and cultural documentaries for BBC StoryWorks and Monocle, and contributions to institutions such as WWF Greece, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. He also co-directed Disasters & Triumphs, a documentary series on modern Greek history.He has directed commercials for companies like LIDL, ALFA Beer, AB, SANI and others. His branded documentary series 'Bar Attitude by Three Cents' received a Gold Ermis Award for Best Digital Content.
